"A Kina Star Hotel elsőre talán kissé ütött-kopott, a falak helyenként maszatosak, és a berendezés sem vadonatúj – de ne felejtsük el, hol vagyunk: egy távoli, esőerdő borította szigeten, ahol a városi kényelem fogalma mást jelent. Ebben a kontextusban a szállás valódi ékkőnek számít. A szoba tágas és funkcionális, a légkondi jól működik, és mindig volt meleg víz – ez nem minden pohnpei szállásról mondható el. Az ágy kényelmes, az ágynemű tiszta, és minden este nyugodtan lehetett pihenni. A személyzet barátságos és segítőkész, sokszor messze túlmutatnak a kötelességükön – legyen szó helyi túrajavaslatról, autóbérlésről vagy egyszerű eligazításról a környéken. A recepción mindig mosoly fogadott. A hotel elhelyezkedése kiváló, 200 méter a reptér. Összességében: nem luxus, de hiteles, megbízható és emberi. Ha valaki a dzsungel közepén keres egy kényelmes, működő bázist a kalandjaihoz, akkor a Kina Star Hotel remek választás."

"Excellent location. ALL the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Near to the American Memorial Park and if you want to book a tour of Saipan, I can recommend Walt at Discover Saipan. He gave me a superb tour of Saipan and Tinian and can collect from the hotel. Delicious dinner in the Terrace restaurant. Several pools and one of them is large enough to swim lengths and is open till late. I wish I could have stayed a bit longer!"

A reggeli lehetne egy kicsit változatosabb. Pár napi tartózkodásra tökéletesen megfelel.

"We stayed in a club room which gave us access to the Club Lounge. The lounge was excellent great food all day and the staff were exceptional. When you consider we were trapped in the Hotel because of the war we could not have been in a better place. Everyone was caring and so helpful. Wonderful Hotel made so by the staff"

"Apparently we got upgraded which was great, very large executive 1 bedroom. Ocean View was nice, pool area on roof was great. Quiet"

Only issue was the shower, hot and cold temp faulty, water pressure poor.

"The location and the Taj standards that has been maintained inspite of it being a old property makes you feel nice and comfortable! The hospitality shown by their staff was a class above!!"

Main dining area felt rather utiltarian. Food was fine , service friendly. The bingo/ karaoke evening was good fun

I think the beds need to upgrade, comparing with other hotels where I recent stayed.

"I had a really great stay here; the staff were friendly and helpful, my room was spacious and very comfortable; the breakfast buffet was tasty and varied and the two restaurants served excellent food. Despite the high quality and fact Kempinski is an international premium brand, the room rates and restaurant prices were very reasonable"

Please note the hotel is about a 30 minute walk from the main square and public taxis are very few. To get around, you need to have a Mongolian SIM to use the taxi apps, master the bus system, of hitchhike

Prices are very high, but the normal for French Guyana. Kourou is not a city for pedestrians. So, there is no good location - everything is far for a walk. By car, it is really close to the space center.

Shaky internet and the rooms abit small for the pricing.

The bacon and sausages at breakfast were not the best but this is usual for Korea. Westerners might notice this, Koreans won't mind them at all.

"Traditional hotel with very relaxed atmosphere. Family owned and staff who were absolutely lovely. Funny, friendly and helpful. Quite quirky with a definite African ambience. Not trying to be too perfect!! Close to the beach in a quiet area. Super pool with stress free feeling as quite shallow and never busy. Surrounded by beautiful gardens and visited regularly by cheeky monkeys."

A lack of written information describing amenities. Mosquitos can be a problem if you normally suffer after being bitten.

Very small rooms, food options r limited and very expensive, exchange rate at reception is very poor, toiletries in room is very limited, not easy to find a taxi, no mini markets/shops around.

Couldn't stay longer

"Our beach attendant, Tevin, looked after our needs endlessly. A pleasure to know him."

Some of the dinner service staff were not particularly professional - demure, inattentive, lacking humour.. Not what you'd expect for such a high class establishment.

"Authentic building, clean and quiet. Quite a backyard of hustle Thamel. Spacious room, stable hot shower, the eco-conscious parts were highlights! The staff were more than helpful! Pitifully we just stayed for 2 nights and missed the yoga class. We had dinner and it was worth trying!"

Az emeleti nagyobb apartman szobánkra már ráférne egy alaposabb felújítás, a földszinti superior szoba viszont nagyon szép állapotban volt. Nem a szállás hibája, de valamelyik előző vendég vagy vendégek a szobai wc-ben dohányoztak és szinte azt lehetetle kiszellőztetni. Egy füstérzékelő a wcbe ajánlott lenne :)

"The team were very friendly and a great support with questions we had. We were met at the airport terminal and driven to the hotel using the free shuttle service. The room was really spacious and clean and breakfast was a great selection. We had asked for help with something very specific which wasn't part of the hotel and the team said to leave it with them and they'd call the room when they had the answer and, they did that!"

"Minden tökéletes volt. Az ellátás bőséges, a szoba tisztasága kiváló, minden nap kétszer takarítottak, szúnyogot irtottak, naponta cserélték a törölközőket és napi két palack vizet hoztak. A pincéreknél mindenkivel meg voltunk elégedve, de szeretném külön kiemelni Alfat aki még álomszerűbbé tette az ott tartózkodásunkat. Mindenképp visszatérünk még."

"Our NGO had a conference in the hotel. the staff was excellent in preparing the conference room and addressing out needs. The conference catered food was excellent. I stayed in the hotel for 2 weeks and had breakfast every day. After the first 2 days, I realized that one could order eggs or omelet. Which was fine but why didn't they tell me at the beginning? Fruit selection was good. Coffee was also good. the wam milk for coffee was frequently empty but refilled on request."

The quality of toileters should be better. The mini bar was empty and needed to ask for water at around 3:00 AM. Lastly, the price is a bit high.

"The room was spacious, clean and had a huge comfortable bed. The room also had amazing views of the sea, and islet de Gosier as well a cool terrace. Coffee facilities and air conditioning in the room. I loved the open air lounge/dining area too - very unique - the art exhibition added glamour! Then the private beach and pool was also a treat."

The beach area tables and lounges needs to be cleaned more regularly.

The pool wasn't working 💔🥹it was my first priority when I was booking the place,and they told me when I was already checking in🤦‍♀️

"The room and around fit to the explanation and pictures. Breakfast was basic and tasty. We came in October when season is over. The owner cook a dinner for us. It was quite expensive (30 euro par person taking a fish, 15 - with no fish), but tasty. Wine was exceptional. It was better then drive in the dark to the restaurant and back (the road is not easy even during the daylight). Adrian made the welcome. Very nice guy with good English. The owner, Vasko (sorry if a spell the name wrongly) is very nice guy. Able to speak Russian. Show us the winery. The wine is exceptional. Very quite place. The views are stunning."

The only one thing was not OK - in one of the rooms (we took 2) water in the shower drains poorly - floor was full of water.
